Junior Sales and Marketing Executive
This position is a self-directed role, reporting to the Hotel Director, responsible for attracting new business to the hotel and liaising with all external and affiliated parties of the hotel. Previous knowledge of the hotel industry and a working knowledge of Hotsoft and Net Affinity is preferable but not a requirement, however, the position is most suited to an energetic, creative and enthusiastic individual with strong presentation skills and a natural confidence when addressing people. A hardworking attitude is imperative as regular work hours cannot be expected, but generally are Monday to Friday.
The role should be evenly divided between out-of-office activities, such as visiting sales calls, and time spent in the office in a marketing and administrative capacity; effective time management is crucial in maintaining this balance.
This role revolves around an ability to increase sales and online sales for the hotel across accommodation, food & beverage and the wedding and corporate sectors. Attending network groups, such as BNI, or any lead generating activities play a vital role in growing a contact base and aid the success of this position . Similarly, effective Account Management is crucial to the success of this role, in order to encourage repeat business, and an innovative approach to attracting new business is essential.
This position is tasked with supervising all online activity, such as website maintenance and online social media, requiring a strong knowledge of digital marketing. This role is also responsible for in-house poster and brochure design, external advertisement design and email marketing design and distribution which requires any applicant to be proficient in photoshop, indesign or a similar design software.
Budget management is crucial and the ability to exceed within the limitations of a budget is critical.
