Set on a private 450 acre estate, Ballynahinch Castle is world renowned for its high quality, superb service and engaging visitor experience and activities.  A fixture on the Conde Nast Hot List for years we were also voted No. 1 in Ireland by their readers in 2014 and in the top three hotels in the British Isles for 2015. Guests really appreciate our authenticity and our lack of pretention.

Trading at high occupancy with a very loyal repeat customer base, Ballynahinch Castle is an intimate and engaging hotel with a magnificent restaurant overlooking our private salmon river and a hugely atmospheric Fisherman’s Pub. The food is a key component of the offer and the sophisticated restaurant is well balanced by the superb local fare and casual dining of the pub.

Ballynahinch Castle does not have a banqueting space but we do host exclusive let weddings and events for up to 150 people, usually no more than 8 times a year. These are very much bespoke affairs that require a high degree of planning and faultless delivery.

The property is currently undergoing the second in a two phase capital investment plan. Having refurbished 32 of the 40 rooms, refurbished the drawing rooms and upgraded fire safety throughout the building we are now adding inventory. We broke ground on the 5th of January on an extension that will provide a further 8 luxury rooms, we are also refurbishing the remaining 8 original river-side rooms. Concurrent with this we are remodelling the restaurant completely and will add an additional 40 seats to our pub offering. This program is due to complete by March 27th.

The successful candidate will be a senior member of the management team reporting directly to the General Manager. They will be responsible for all aspects of the Food and Beverage operation including;

As a senior member of the team the candidate is expected to adopt a duty management attitude at all times, always vigilant with a strong attention to detail. Working side by side with the team and leading by example. Characteristic sought are;

  • Quick witted with good analytical skills
  • A can do, will do person who completes tasks.
