The 5* Glenlo Abbey has an exciting vacancy for a Revenue professional to join its management team.

Glenlo Abbey Hotel sits on a 140-acre estate with the original 18th century manor house dating back to the 1740’s. The Hotel comprises of 75 bedrooms including 4 suites, Corrib Suite (catering for meetings, events, weddings for up to 180 guests), River Restaurant, Palmer Bar, Oak Cellar Bar, 2AA Rosette Pullman Restaurant (an original Dining Carriage from the Orient Express) and a GUI accredited golf course and 20 bay driving range.

We are looking for an inspiring, innovative, and passionate  Revenue Manager to join our progressive hotel group. This individual will be career focused and will want to be instrumental to the success of the hotel through their contribution to the overall revenue strategy and execution in the hotel.  The ideal candidate will need to be able to work in a fast paced and customer focused environment.

 Scope of role:

  • Revenue management and distribution strategy for the hotel, and management of the day to day yield operations, and reservations function.
  • Achieve budgeted rooms segmentation and sales revenues.
  • Maintain Implement robust revenue management operations, procedures and best practices.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly reporting and forecasting.
  • Optimize and expand distribution partnerships in line with hotels revenue strategy.
  • Act as overall business development consultant for the hotel general manager/owner.
  • Challenge and influence hotel to improve service level and operational standards.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of staff at the hotel.
  • Embed a revenue management culture.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years revenue or reservations management experience in a 4* or 5* Hotel.
  • Expert knowledge of PMS / integrated channel management systems / hotel website booking engines/ 3rd   party distribution channels/ GDS.
  • Track record in revenue management success and over-achievement essential.
  • Hotel resort experience preferable but not essential.
  • Revenue focused, target and results driven.
  • Strong commercial awareness with ability to produce budgets / forecasts / reports.
  • Experienced in reservations and revenue functions at both operational and management levels. Experience of effective people management in a team environment.
  • Effective communicator with clients and colleagues, individually and in groups, with the  capacity to provide clear written reports and strategies.
  • Excellent levels of personal motivation and organisation. Must be a self-starter with multi-tasking ability and  have the capacity to respond to a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Confident, ambitious and pro-active, and seeks out challenges and is driven by success.

Core Job Responsibilities & Duties

  • Revenue management and distribution strategy for the hotel, and management of the day to day yield operations, and reservations function.
  • Daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting.
  • Perform competitive benchmark studies and follow market trends.
  • Maintenance of 24-36 month rolling demand calendar.
  • Create and develop pricing strategies in conjunction with the individual needs of the hotel.
  • Provide weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances and budget comparisons.
  • Manage and oversee strategy for all 3rd party distribution
  • Responsible for assessing, analysing and pricing group business strategies (business / leisure / incentive)
  • Analyse overall monthly hotel performance and provide summary report with recommendations to improve long term strategies.
  • Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated and working to full capacity#
  • Manage the standards and operations for reservations department.
  • Ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional.
  • Ensure hotel personnel are fully competent in the use of all systems
  • Work closely with hotel sales, meetings and events, and front office teams to ensure service and revenue delivery.
  • Regularly check the input and the quality of data (segmentation, denials tracking, etc…) points.
  • Conduct monthly property performance review and develop strategic and tactical action
  • Responsible for best practice standards to include competitor analysis; environmental scanning; market modelling; distribution yield management; business mix yield management; length of stay yield management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and new pricing concepts#
  • Evaluate performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, consortia, crew, groups, etc…).
  • Reduce the cost of distribution by finding new less expensive means of delivering business
  • Prepare rooms segmentation and support the annual revenue budget process.
  • Inspire Hotel’s HODs to further embed a revenue management culture.
  • Responsible for recruitment / training / writing of SOP’s / coaching / performance management and appraisals of reservations team.
  • Any other reasonable requests made by management.
