Who You Are

You’re a detail-oriented professional who’s excited about becoming a Duty Manager in one of the best hotels in Connacht. As a hands-on person, you’re keen to get involved at all levels, whether you’re helping to drive the operational performance of the hotel or assisting a guest with an important query. You’re proud of achieving great results all the time, and you consistently strive for the best across the board with specific focus on both Food and Beverage and Rooms/Front Office departments.  Key Deliverables and Responsibilities

  • To oversee departmental operations, including service efficiency, customer care standards, property maintenance and cleanliness
  • To ensure that all staff conduct themselves in accordance to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual and hotel policy
  • Ability to direct the team in all operational departments in their day-to-day duties
  • A strong presence on the floor with a hands-on approach at all service times
  • To maintain control over the cash on the premises (floats, cash registers, the back safe)
  • To handle any complaints that may arise ensuring that each complaint is handled in a professional manner that complies with the hotel policy
  • To ensure that areas and teams are ready for meetings & events as outlined in the hotel Conference Schedule
  • To communicate effectively with teams and departmental managers and encourage a positive work environment for employees
  • To carry out security and fire walks as per schedule
  • To ensure that all fire escape routes are kept clear and the doors are kept in good working order
  • To ensure that all fire safety equipment is in good working order and that it is placed in the correct position as laid down by the fire officer
  • To ensure that the premises are operating in compliance with the Health & Safety at work
  • To oversee security of the hotel premises
  • To ensure that the food and beverage department is operating within the food and hygiene regulations (HACCP)
  • To log any accidents or incidents that may occur to patrons or employees of the hotel in the Duty Managers hand over diary and accident / incident report forms
  • To assist the senior management team to assess and improve hotel processes and procedures

Professional requirements and Experience:

  • Previous experience with at least 2 years’ experience as a Duty Manager/Food & Beverage Supervisor in a Hotel.
  • Hotel & Catering Qualification / Management Qualification or Business Qualification
  • Restaurant and Bar Service Experience is an advantage
  • Front Office experience & knowledge of front office software advantage
