Food and Beverage Supervisor

The Food & Beverage Supervisor supports the daily operations of The Grace Westport Estate’s food and beverage outlets, ensuring a seamless guest experience and the consistent delivery of service excellence. Working under the guidance of the Assistant Manager, this role is hands-on in leading service teams, maintaining operational standards, and upholding the property’s commitment to refined hospitality.

Principle Responsibilities

Guest Experience

  • Support the delivery of attentive, personalised service in accordance with luxury standards.
  • Address guest requests and concerns promptly, escalating issues to management where appropriate.
  • Monitor the dining floor to ensure guest satisfaction and service consistency throughout operations.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily restaurant set-up, table allocations, and service readiness.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams to maintain smooth service flow and communication.
  • Ensure dining and service areas uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, ambience, and presentation.
  • Support adherence to daily checklists, SOPs, and closing procedures.

Team Supervision & Support

  • Supervise and motivate front-of-house staff including servers, hosts, and food runners.
  • Assist with pre-service briefings, communicating daily specials, menu changes, and key service priorities.
  • Support the Assistant Manager with team scheduling, onboarding, and performance feedback.

Inventory & Financial Awareness

  • Assist in monitoring stock levels of service items, linens, and consumables.
  • Report shortages or wastage to management to support cost-control measures.
  • Support cash handling, billing, and POS accuracy throughout service periods.

Menu & Beverage Knowledge

  • Maintain thorough understanding of menu items, ingredients, and beverage pairings.
  • Promote menu specials and recommend pairings to enhance the guest dining experience.
  • Support training initiatives to keep the team informed and confident in menu delivery.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to food hygiene, allergen awareness, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for daily operational and health & safety requirements.

Required Experience & Skills 

 1–2 years’ experience in a supervisory or senior service role within a luxury, or fine dining environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-first mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, reservations management, and basic reporting.
  • Sound knowledge of food and beverage operations; wine knowledge an advantage.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
