Home of the GAA, Croke Park Stadium is Ireland’s foremost sporting and entertainment venue. Over 1,500,000 visitors are welcomed annually to national and international events and the Croke Park campus also features Croke Park Meetings & Events and GAA Museum & Tours.

An opportunity now arises for a Sales Executive to join the meetings and events team.

Croke Park is one of the world’s most unique, sustainable, and flexible venues bringing people together for live and hybrid events that educate, inspire, and entertain. As a Sales Executive, the successful candidate will be responsible for responding to all sales enquires, developing new business and will assist with increasing market share and achieving budget targets.

The ideal candidate will be customer focused and standards driven. They must be reliable, organised, be a good team player and have a natural flair and enthusiasm for communicating with people and closing sales. Exceptional attention to detail is essential as well as the ability to work on your own initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest of standards:

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all meeting enquiries for events and ensure enquires are handled promptly and efficiently.
  • Respond to all RFPs in a timely manner.
  • Meet potential and existing clients and conduct detailed site inspections and ensure that they receive an excellent first impression of the venue.
  • Manage Croke Park Meetings & Events key accounts and recognise and capitalise on all opportunities from these existing accounts and maintain them to their optimum level.
  • Participate fully in all sales activities including telesales, sales calls, corporate entertaining and social events as necessary. A weekly target of tele-calls and face-to-face meetings to be completed.
  • Actively up-sells each business opportunity; matching the customer profile with the appropriate product; achieve personal and team related revenue goals.
  • Compile and maintain the client database.
  • Attend team meetings and present reports on sales activity and forecasts.
  • Assist in developing and delivering the company’s annual sales plan.

Essential Criteria: 

  • A minimum of 2 years’ hospitality/event experience in a similar role;
  • Experience in Events/ Hotels / Event Venues
  • Relevant third level and/or professional qualification(s);
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship and listening skills;
  • Strong customer focus and customer service skills;
  • Demonstrably strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills; demonstrable ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrably strong ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • Highly motivated, action oriented, flexible, enthusiastic and will have well-honed communication skills;
  • Excellent administrative and IT skills (Microsoft Office) with a strong working knowledge of a
  • Property Management Software system (Delphi, Opera or Events500);
  • Demonstrable ability to always exhibit a professional and friendly demeanour and manner;
  • Good attention to detail and efficient at keeping records;
  • Maintain team focus by showing co-operation and support to colleagues in the support of department goals.

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Knowledge of, and interest in, Croke Park Stadium and the GAA;
  • Knowledge of Croke Park Meetings and Events offerings.
