[zilla_three_fourth]The Alumni Gathering Gala Ball took place in Dromoland Castle on Saturday, August 31st 2013.
At 19:00, everyone started to gather for the wonderful Pre-dinner Drinks Reception including Guinness & Oysters and canapés from Wild Atlantic Way.
Once everyone was called for the Gala Dinner, the introductory speeches got underway.
Maurice Bergin the Alumni President announced the Golf Winners from earlier in the day and presented Anniversay Lapel Pins to the anniversary classes. 2003 had a great turnout and Anne Branigan was the lone representatives from 1993! Maurice also presented 50 year pins to those from the earlier classes who were present – Mary Bowe (1958), Margaret Flannery, Dan Dorrian and Niall Doris (all 1960), Jim Flannery (1961) and Alban Kelly-Mor (1962).
After a truly delicious meal featuring the best of Irish produce, the raffle and auction took place – raising almost €10,000 for the Paddy & Joey O’Looney Trust.
SuperFuze were ready to fill the dance floor at this stage and once they were finished, the DJ kept the momentum going.
Sean de Búrca was our pianist on the night and rumour has it, he tinkled the ivories until almost 6.30am!
