The Glenlo Abbey Hotel has appointed Rónán O’Halloran as its new General Manager.

A Galway native, Rónán brings with him years of experience in five star Irish hotels. He spent his formative years training in Switzerland and Miami, and holds a diploma in International Hotel Management from Shannon College of Hotel Management, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce Accounting Degree from NUIG.

Rónán has worked at the K Club as Assistant Rooms Division Manager, at the Radisson Blu Athlone as Front Office Manager, as well as senior positions in The Westbury Dublin and the InterContinental Dublin.

“It is such an infectious industry, I loved the camaraderie with colleagues, the pressure when it was busy, the attention to detail when setting a room for a large function, where everything had to be perfect. That’s where I caught the hospitality bug,” said Rónán.

“We are delighted to welcome Rónán home to Galway and welcome his invaluable input over the coming years as Glenlo Abbey Hotel continues to develop with the focus primarily on guests experiences,” said John & Marie Lally, owners.

“I want to draw on my own local background to deliver a pure slice of West of Ireland hospitality to all who come through our gates. Whether that be the friendly, genuine Ceád Míle Fáilte on arrival, or the provenance of the food on our menus,” said Rónán.
