Dermot Gallagher (1969)
It was so lovely to welcome Dermot Gallagher (1969) and his daughter Louise back to Shannon College of Hotel Management today. Dermot was the first graduate to return to Shannon as a lecturer – he lectured here from 1974 until 1984 and is spoken of so fondly by all of his students – including Kate O’Connell and Suzanne Kennedy! We pictured him with 7 of the 8 alumni who are back as staff now – he really set the trend! Sarah O Mahony (2011) was the only one of us too busy working to stand in for a photo!
Year 3 students Donna McInerney and Garry Li looked after them so well and thank you Gaye Doyle for sourcing some wonderful archive material in the library.
