If you had to re-live your time in Shannon College, would you do anything differently?
Embrace the learning more and push myself harder.
What advice would you give to your 20 year old self?
Grab every opportunity that you can no matter what. Keep trying and push yourself to be involved, you get one chance enjoy it.
In your life, what achievement are you most proud of?
Outside personal success of having a work wonderful family, professional success was having amazing opportunities and milestones – for example returning to teach in Shannon College is a rare privilege and now joining a group management role.
What qualities do you think are most important to have for a rewarding career?
Honesty and integrity, always respect people and speak to everybody, we might have different roles and positions but we are all people.
What has been the biggest challenge you have faced during Covid-19?
Opening and closing was horrific but the challenge around keeping people working and supporting people not working and isolated. People are experiencing COVID in vary different degrees of isolation and depression.
Do you have words of wisdom that you try to live by?
Be fair, honest and work hard let nobody take that from you. And look for the good.
What advice do you have for current SCHM students who are looking for inspiration and hope?
Take the time to learn and keep your eyes on the future this will pass and you will face many more challenges in your wonderful career. Don’t forget the people around you, a call or text may make a difference.
