What 3 words best describe your experience as a student of Shannon College?

Skill-development, Memories and Friendships.

What college memory still makes you smile?

First year practicals and the learning experience we all went through.

If you had to re-live your time in Shannon College, would you do anything differently?

Maybe work less outside of college, to make things that little bit easier for myself!!!

What advice would you give to your 20 year old self?

Live in the moment, appreciate what people around you have to offer and be willing to learn. Learn whenever and wherever you can. Also, be okay with mistakes. Everyone makes them, learning from them is one of life’s powerful tools.

What qualities do you think are most important to have for a rewarding career?

Openness and willingness.

What has been the biggest challenge you have faced during Covid-19?

Going from 100km/h to zero. From thriving in a role and doing very well for myself, to then finding myself on furlough for 10 months.

Do you have words of wisdom that you try to live by?

Always be open. Open towards people, open to ideas and open toward opportunities.

What advice do you have for current SCHM students who are looking for inspiration and hope?

Take a breather for a second. Take a step back and look back with pride at all you already have accomplished, even the little things. You’ve already achieved plenty and will undoubtedly continue to do so. It mightn’t be as quick or as rapid as you may want, but it’s as long as it’s in the right direction you’re doing alright…Also understand the value of mentoring and mentor ship!!!!
