Head of Hospitality

Job Brief

We are looking for an experienced Head of Hospitality to organise excellent events & welcome leisure guests to Mount Congreve Gardens. You will be responsible for ensuring a warm welcome & memorable experience for every event & guest stay. A Head of Hospitality must be well-organised with excellent communication skills & attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be flexible to work on the days required including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Smooth running of the Events and Accommodation department, where all aspects of the guest journey and experience are delivered to the highest level.
  • To have a complete knowledge of the attraction & the product & services we offer.
  • Management & booking of all leisure accommodation, tour, group, event and wedding bookings working with the Head of Sales & Marketing to ensure all opportunities are maximised
  • Responsible for accommodation cleaning schedule, ensuring all aspects are met to the highest standards.
  • To ensure a timely & accurate response to all booking & guest enquiries, providing information, quotations, proposals & contracts for conferences, banqueting events, weddings etc.
  • Ensure that every enquiry is tracked and followed up using the tools provided and ensure that there is relevant documentation of all communication with clients.
  • Ensure that all groups are entered into the booking system correctly with relevant notes and rates.
  • Manage all payment and billing information for each group, working with Accounts
  • Maintain telephone etiquette and verbiage standards.
  • Always ensuring the maximisation of guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to guest enquiries and problem resolution.
  • Showing potential customers around the estate & upselling every department therein
  • Delivering exceptional customer care at all times & maintaining standards in order to facilitate the smooth running of the operation.
  • Be proficient in the management of the attractions ticketing, events & leisure reservations software
  • Production of a forecast sheet for all events business, updating on a weekly basis & briefing at the weekly team meetings ensuring computer system is updated & accurate at all times
  • Responsible for tour guide scheduling and liaising with guides
  • Liaising with catering partners to devise menus & set up requirements
  • Monitor guest feedback & conduct regular team briefings
  • Provide operational assistance for key events
  • Hire equipment as needed across all functions of an event – audio, screens, tables etc..
  • Other administrative tasks as required.
  • The above is not an exhaustive list of duties & you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation & the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Three years hospitality experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be available to work weekends and some evenings
  • Passion for working with people
  • Strong computer & communication skills
